Historic

The history of the Centre Canin International is much like the history of its owner, Mr. Guy Bertrand.

At the age of 20 years, Guy Bertrand began his journey in the world of dog training.  In the time where dog training schools were unheard of, Guy Bertrand trained and assisted regularly at seminars in Germany, Belgium, United States and throughout the world.

Guy Bertrand’s efforts have been recognized and awarded on several occasions.  He was the first man in Quebec to participate at the Schutzhund Canadian Championship, the Schutzhund World Championship and the North American Working Dog Championship.

In 1974, in addition to his involvement with the Schutzhund Associations, Mr. Bertrand opened his first dog training school in Granby, Quebec called the Centre Canin Anco.  The purpose of the school was to educate students in dog training, train dogs, breed dogs and sell puppies as well as trained dogs to the public.

We find the students trained by Guy Bertrand for over 25 years working as trainers for Mira, working for the television series "Dog World" and as dog trainers in Seattle, Washington and in Los Angeles.  It is also Mr. Bertrand who trained the largest number of official dog agitators who have the expertise to work in Working Dog Championship Competitions.

Mr. Bertrand has been a well know and reputable breeder of German Shepherds for 30 years.  Because of this accomplishment, he has a number of German Shepherds with the Schutzhund title in Canada.

Guy Bertrand’s dogs are also sought after by different law enforcement organizations such as the Montreal Police Force and La Sûreté de Québec..

Since 1992, under the name of Le Centre Canin International, Guy Bertrand opened a dog training school on the South Shore of Montreal in Greenfield Park.

Thanks to the diverse dog training courses and services offered,
the Centre Canin International is able to provide harmonious integration of companion dogs with their owners as well as help dog owners to better understand their animals in order to reduce the occurrence of unfortunate experiences.

The Centre Canin International provides to a vast array of dog owners with the ability to enjoy their dogs.
